Swim Team
The AquaStorm Swim Team and Pre Team are excellent programs for children looking to move on to a competitive swim team.
About our Teams
We strive to perfect all four competitive swim strokes and to build strength and endurance through lap swimming. Participants will learn how to circle swim and work on competitive skills.
The program begins with the fundamentals and mechanics of competitive swimming and continues with a progressive training curriculum preparing our swimmers with the opportunity to compete at the highest levels. Practice is one hour for each team and class sizes vary according to each AquaKids® location. Each team will have three coaches. Monthly swim meets are held at an AquaKids® facility (some traveling may be required).
Make-up lessons are not allowed if enrolled on Pre or Swim Team. For times and availability, click here.
Pre-Team
Our Pre-Team is designed to help those kids who may not want to swim competitively, but would like to increase their strength and endurance and for those looking to move on to our Swim Team. In order to participate on Pre-Team, swimmers must be promoted to the Intermediate – 3 level or complete an evaluation class if they are a new student. Swimmers will be introduced to proper stroke mechanics and diving with an emphasis on stroke refinement, the fundamentals of swimming for health, introduction to competition, and the proper starts and turns. At the end of the session, Swim Team coaches must approve any students wanting to move from Pre-Team to Swim Team.
Swim Team
Our Swim Team is designed to help those kids who are interested in entering the field of competitive swimming. Swim Team is a balance between conditioning and strength building with an emphasis on stroke refinement and perfection. In order to participate on Swim Team, swimmers must be promoted to the Advanced level or complete and evaluation class if they are a new student. Swimmers will be introduced to endurance conditioning, proper starts and turns, relays, and individual medleys with an emphasis on refining the four competitive strokes and preparing for competition.
